We use A17.1 Section 8.11.1.4 Installation Placed Out Of Service. If the lift is to be permanantly out of service we apply the requirements of (b) (1) and (2). If the lift is to be out for a measurable time or the owner may wish to return it to service, we apply (a) which amounts to tag out/lock out and or seal out procedure for us. Hope this helps.
