Vanessa, the first thing that you should do is to verify
whether or not you in fact have ADHD. Sometimes, people are quite certain that they have a particular diagnosis only to find out that their symptoms actually point to something else (or simply are not sufficient to account for that diagnosis). If you've had similar ongoing symptoms since childhood, it's more likely that it is ADHD; if your symptoms began more recently (in adulthood), there may be another explanation. Your best bet is probably to begin with a psychotherapist who specializes in ADHD and related symptomatology. You would learn more about the diagnosis, its specific effect on you, treatment, and local resources.
