 Subject: my dads C-47

Mt father was a Captain in the Army AirCorps in 44-46 and flew a C-47 that they called the hard rock. My question is how do I find out what happened to that aircraft after the war, as I am doing his genealogy. I have only one photo of him hanging out the pilots window, and there are some camel and other insignia's just behind the window. if you can't help, maybe you could send me in a better direction?
