'please explain difference of temple in 1&2 Corinthians vs the temple in Ephesians chapter 2 :21. also is the calling of the bride of the Lamb still taking place at this present time of the calling of The Church of the Body Thank you @ may God Bless' Quote (vhcem)

Hi,
Lets compare some scriptures concerning the temple in both shall we? Beginning with Corinthians 1 & 2.

'Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.' (1Cor 3:16,17)

'Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.' (1Cor 6:18-20)

'Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.' (2Cor 6:14-18)

Ephesians:

'Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit. (Eph 2:19-22)

In 'In Heavenly Places' a book written by Mr Charles Welch there is a very good portion on the temple, and I will refer you to that now as it may prove useful to you.

If you type 'Ephesians 2:19-22' into the 'search box' you will be taken to the section dealing with the temple, and there is much there to contrast these two portions of scripture with their figure of the temple. I would have liked to type out some of it for you but it would have taken too long, and there is so much that is worth reading that to miss anything out would be a shame.

I hope you take a look at this link for it will be worth your while.

In Christ Jesus our risen Lord,
Chris
