This a hard question to answer with a solution which pleases everyone. If this were a dinner you would have to serve two wines, probably a Pinot Noir and a Chardonnay.
Since this is a party with heavy appetizers, there is a one wine answer to your question, and that would be a Beajolais served lightly chilled at around 55 to 60 degrees. This could be a Beajolais Village, or even better one of the Grand Cru Beajolais such as a Fleurie. Beajolais are semi-dry with big fresh fruit flavors and the perfect comprmise between white and red wines. The other choice woud be a Rose Wine, but these vary in style so much, it might be hard to choose the right one.
