My grandfather was Leo M. Slaughter of Greenbelt, Maryland. He got his wings and was with the 508th in Fort Benning in 1951. In September '51, he volunteered to go to Korea.
I've been reading his journals and his handwriting is very bad, but he talks about spending all of basic and jump school with two guys, Vince V-something and Carl Stalin (sp?), both from Baltimore, Maryland. He says that when he went to Korea, he never saw them again.
Does anyone have any information about these two men, if they are still alive or what happened to them after September 1951? My grandfather spent a lot of time with them and I would love to know what became of them.
Any information would be greatly appreciated!
Sincerely,
Marissa Slaughter (Stalvey) |
