For the last 2 months my right foot hurts. The pain is centralized to the outside 1/4" of my foot (between my pinky toe and two toes in.) It hurts only when I walk and especially when I haven't been on the foot-such as sitting or laying down for awhile. There is no pain affiliated with touch. My doctor told me to take some ibuprofen and see if it gets worse. (I have been on ibuprofen for 2 weeks on an unrelated issue, so obviosuly that recommendation doesn't help.) I feel like an old woman trying to walk after they have been sitting down for awhile. I almost start limping a little bit for the first 5 minutes until my foot gets accustomed to the pain and tenderness. There has been no previous injury and there is no swelling or bruising on the outside. I know my doctor thinks it isn't anything big but I would like to know the reason. Any suggestions?
