I am experiencing a cracking or popping in by big toe. At first the cracking would occur every time I walked then a gradual pain would begin until the pain was extreme. I feel an extreme tightness around my toe when I walk and then it pops when I release the weight. The pain comes from the bottom of my big toe. I went to the doctor who did an X-ray who found no brusing or bleeding. He suggested to me that it was a partial tear in a ligament, I think the 'lesfrancs' ligament. He wasn't sure about my condition, he had to consult another doctor on the phone. Anyway he had me wear a foot brace for 3 weeks and now I'm starting to try to walk on my foot again. It will still crack when I begin walking and there is some moderate pain. What is going on here? Will I need surgery? Thanks |
