After a year of paper work and red tape. The Reading With Therapy Dogs program has been approved by the Board of Education. I will be utilizing two of my Therapy Dogs in a program set in a local elementary school. "RUFF" (Reading oUtloud for Fun and Fluency) promises to have wonderful results for struggling young readers. The concept at work is the fact that children are often more willing and relaxed when reading to an adoring, non-judgmental audience - a dog. |
