Hi All,
Spent Monday through Thursday of last week at the new man-made trout stream at Wolf Creek Hatchery in Kentucky.
Article here - plus much more info if you google it.

Had planned a trip to the Driftless (Viroqua, Wisconsin) but the weather looked like it was going to be blown out - it was - and still is in places as of today.
I didn't think I'd like the man-made stream in KY but it was actually very nicely done and the vegetation is growing in nicely. After a bit you didn't really notice it wasn't natural.
The purpose of this stream wasn't primarily fishing, it was intended to set up a habitat for rainbows to spawn naturally.
It seems to have worked. (Got to talk to one of the project biologist on the water one day while there).
Had a great time, caught a lot of fish AFTER we figured out they weren't easy and required some thinking.
Also saw some HUGE fish that had come up from the tailwater fishery (Cumberland River)
I will go back for sure and hopefully combine it with a float trip on the Cumberland.
Thanks
