 Subject: Foot Pain along the outside of my foot

I have foot pain along the outside of my foot. We have ruled out any bone problems via an x-ray and bone scan. MRI shows damaged muscle or tissue along the side of the foot. Have tried physical therapy, wearing a boot, and one cortisone shot. Nothing seems to help, although the cortisone shot helped for maybe three days. Someone suggested possible nerve damage. My podiatrist isn't quite sure what the problem is either. Can you help?
