The ARRR acronym important because it can be applied not only to our prayer life but also to the Holy Mass. ARRR stands for Acknowledge, Relating, Receive and Respond.

First, when we pray, we must acknowledge what is going on in our life, the things we need to work on, our sins, but also what is good in our life. Here we need to talk to God and have an honest conversation with God. In light of the Mass, we acknowledge our sins during the penitential right.

Relating brings our thoughts and knowledge to God and in the Mass, we relate with God through the liturgy of the word, when we hear the first and second reading as well as the gospel.

Receiving is when we look at what God is trying to say to us; what is his will for us and what is he asking us to do with our lives. Receiving also occurs in the Mass when we receive the Eucharist.

The Last R is responding. We must respond to what we have received from God. We must go out and follow Gods will for us, and what he has made known when we pray to him. When we receive the Eucharist we must respond to the gift that he has given to us and go forth to preach the Gospel to all people through our words and actions.
