Tony Arbour Conservative Leader of the New Council in Richmond, has been asked to apply for an extension of Richmond’s Crown Lease on the Deerpark site, the present Lease has 17years to run and it would be impossible to arrange funding for a £20 million building without a 125 year future. So far, he has not written to Crown Estates with the request
Kim Wilkie Wrote `The Landscape Strategy’ for English Heritage (non elected) and Crown Estates (non elected) and Friends of Old Deerpark (non elected NGO), this effectively bans any building on the only site possible for a new rink. Kim Wilkie has been asked to modify his report by Deborah Harrison, Landscape Architect.

Non elected officers of the custodians of the public `Crown Land’ site who are sitting on the fence, unable to regulate but suggesting that `The Landscape Strategy’ has altered the playing field `since the last planning permission for an ice rink was given’.
Prince Charles Wrote a letter of support to a Mr & Mrs Taylor giving his support to the notion of using part of Old Deer Park as the new Richmond Ice Rink and has now `gone to ground’ over the ISIS (Internationsl School of Ice Skating) proposal.
