A number of Protestant and Baptist friends have asked me about the relationship between Catholics and Mary. I am a convert, so my relationship with Mary is comparable to that between new acquaintances who share a love of our Lord. I ask Mary to pray with me and for me. I might ask you to do the same.
Mary is fully human. She has been called the "New Eve" and Jesus has been called the "New Adam". Through the sin of Adam and Eve, sin entered the world. Satan was banished here. If the first humans had ignored him, imagine the difference in our world today! In Revelation, Mary is the Queen of Heaven whose child Jesus destroys the serpent.
By saying "YES" to God, Mary became the mother of Jesus, the Son of God. The message of Jesus is "Repent". Say "YES" to God and say "NO" to Satan. Follow Mary's example. Do whatever God asks of you. Love God. Reject Satan. |
