On Jeremy Paxmans 'Start The Week' BBC Radio 4 Julian said modern art was crap. The Emperors new clothes. We've all been conned. And I couldn't agree more. At 24 Richmond Hill Gallery I've been saying the same thing for 25 years and it has not got me anywhere due to 'The Herd of fashion'.The sheep who would and do follow, even with their cheque books. But here comes Julian and pops the balloon, how wonderfully refreshing. Perhaps we can now get back to basics and appreciate craftsmen and women. Perhaps we can be free from 'New Music'.If you put 'no trendy daubs' into Google you get sent to 24richmondhill.com. While I'm on my soapbox lets remind people of the return of proper ice skating too, of Richmond Ice Rink,of a time when we were not ruled by spivs. |
