I, too, had difficulty with Gal. 3:28 until my old mentor Dr. McLain reminded me that Galatians was written during the Acts period and does not fall under the "dispensation of grace" as revealed in Eph. 3:2. Notice in Galatians that the faithful are the children of Abraham and are blessed with faithful Abraham (2:7-9) and that the faithful are Abraham's seed and heirs according to the promise. We who have an inheritance in the heavenlies do not rely upon the promise to or the inheritance of Abraham. Our promise, founded upon Christ (Eph. 3:6), was a sacred secret hidden in God (not in scripture) "from the beginning of the ages" (Eph. 3:9).
Also, take note in Gal. 3:28 that the Jew comes first (cp. Roms. 1:16 another Acts period epistle). Then compare Col. 3:11 written after the Acts period when the hope of Israel and the promises to Abraham had been set aside and see the reversal. The Jew is no longer first.
