I think that the problem lies in the fact that God did not give a verbatim quote of Matt. But then again, neither Matt., Mark, nor Luke read the same exact way. If it is possible to realize that in those texts that there are things missing in each account or added in each account, then why not I. Thess. 4???
No, in I.Thess. 4 you do not have God coming to judge the wicked...but you do in I.Thess.5 and since these believers were to not be in darkness concerning that day, but to look for deliverance, then it should stand the test.
