A total guess on my part, but have your doctor consider Kohler's Disease of the navicular bone, an avascular necrosis which is generally self-limiting, perhaps over a few year period. Sometimes there is a mechanical underlying etiology which may be identified, but not necessarily so. It's not terribly common, but worth considering. You can obtain information on this condition on the Internet for comparing your child's symptoms. An x-ray is necessary for diagnosis. See a podiatrist. |
