As I all too often have to say, there is not enough information here to draw any conclusions, any more than if you had said, "I have a headache, what is wrong and what should I do?"

However, the one thing about what you have said that might be a telling factor is that when someone complains of pain on the outside middle of the foot, it is very often a problem at the site of the tuborosity of the base of the 5th metatarsal bone, often referred to as the syloid process. This area protrudes on all feet and is especially noticiable on the long and skinny foot. It is subject to irrititation by shoes and with inversion injuries of the foot, and fracutes and avulsions are not uncommon

But all of this is mere supposition base on general experience, and not on anything specific to you or your complaint. What you need is what most folks who write in here for diagnoses need . . . a hands-on examination by a qualified doctor.

I will be much more willing to share general information with you about the diagnosis and subsequent treatment advice after an evaluation by physical examination has been made and conclusions drawn. But this and all sites such as this cannot possibly offer specific information targeted to an individual situation, and general principals which may or may not apply to the questioner's situation are all that are professionally appropriate to offer.
