Dr. Wander, and Bernie Secour,
First I am enjoying your back and forth dialogue between Dr. Wander and Bernie S.
I guess we are on the MIS bunion topic again,
David, if just happened in the Philadelphia area you had one of the best open and MIS surgeons area for this time . Dr. Abe Plon could do both surgical procedures in his sleep.
He never talked a patient into any procedure, never advertized and had a very nice practice that was based upon his work. His personality was nothing to write home about. Patients loved him for his honest upfront explanations and good work.
I think it just as bad to do MIS ( blind) procedure on evey one as it is to NOT use any MIS procedure at all.
Yesterday I saw a patient who had MIS bunionectomy done five years ago and came to my office for an evaluation of another problem
Monday I will do three revisional open surgical cases whith traditional surgery but to the very poor technique, choice etc.
My opinion is that both have their place and to say that MIS doesn't just means you aren't in tune with treating patients.
I don't sell procedure to patient, they come to me due to my track record of my results. Why else would they come to me.
I can't see a patient coming to me because I screwed up someone feet. Just isn't going to happen. Even if the procedure was done correctly the patient still would come to me.
By the way Bernie it was my suggestion to have Dr. Wander visit this site. I think you will find his posting excellent.

No need to respond to my post. I understand your opinion regarding MIS and we don't agree. So lets leave it at that. I don't bad mouth tradional surgery I use it to help my patients and I do the same with MIS.
