Hi Scott,

I've only seen two others of this model. I own one (#2263), and it was probably made the day before yours on November 10, 1968. The 1968 David Nuuhiwa Lightweight lam was used on them, with the David Nuuhiwa words cut out. This model was exclusively ordered and shipped to Bing's distributor in the Islands, the International Surf Center in Honolulu. The two I've see are very colorful. Mine is a red and purple floral with a red tint. They have a really interesting shape, reflecting a bit of the experimentation that was going on at the time in surfboard design - wide in the nose (18 inches) with a very pulled narrow tail (about 12 inches). Disproportionently thick in the tail too (at least 3 inches), like the later Lotuses and shorter Pintail Lightweights.

Bing will forward you a "birth certificate" for your board.

Please send photos to me at setwave@msn.com . High resolution photos are best (1 MB or more - Attach them as Files, not Photos to keep the files from being reduced). Thanks.

We look forward to seeing your board.

Tom
