John B. McGarvey, age 62, of Philadelphia, passed away suddenly on December 4, 2023.
John had a personality that endeared him to everyone he met. His family was of the utmost importance to him. Whether it was helping his parents as a devoted son, a text to his brothers or sister letting them know he was thinking of them or being a supportive uncle, He was always present for his family. You never had to ask for help from John, he already had offered. There was not a mean bone in his body. He had a great sense of humor and when you heard his laugh, you knew right away that it was John. He enjoyed spending time at the Holmesburg Fish and Game Protective Association and on New Year's Day, you could find John marching up Broad Street with the Wild Rovers New Year's Brigade.
Cherished son of John J. and the late Maryann (nee Murray). Loving partner of Claudia Quinton. Devoted brother of Daniel (Kristi), Barry (Diane), and Sheila (Joe) Lalli. Beloved uncle of Molly (Devin), Erin, Evan and Bridget. Also survived by many aunts,uncles, and cousins. Relatives, friends and members of Holmesburg Fish and Game are invited to offer condolences to his family on Saturday, December 16, 2023, from 9:30 AM to 11 AM at St Anselm Church 12670 Dunksferry Rd., Funeral Mass 11 AM.
