Well my friends, it looks as if the summit has been reached. On Feb. 17, 2010 the Court of Appeals upheld the sentence of Yonel Hernandez-Payero. I have been in contact with C.I.Shenk up until yesterday, an although he no longer is associated with the Reading Police Department, he is still active in law enforcement.Some of you may not have liked him, but Reading was lucky to have someone as dedicated as him.
As outsiders to Berks, Donna and I will forever be grateful to Years of Tears for allowing us to be adopted into the "family". Brenda has asked me to write a paper for you all to read on our experiences. I am trying, but the emotions become so strong even in the first paragraph, that I break down and cannot continue. It may take awhile, but I am determined to see it through to conclusion. Although it will be three years this July 18th, with all of the trips there for court, everthing still appears fresh in our minds and we havenot been allowed to progress through the grieving process.
