My stepmother Cindy is a very well-traveled lady, she has been to over 99 countries and territories. She has traveled to many countries and territories on her own and when she married my father, they traveled to places like Denmark, Finland, Sweden and all around Europe. One of the places that she traveled to, on her own, is the country of Georgia, not to be confused with the State of Georgia. Let me tell you a little bit about this country. Georgia is a transcontinental country at the intersection of Eastern Europe and Western Asia. It is part of the Caucasus region, bounded by the Black Sea to the west, by Russia to the north and northeast, by Turkey to the southwest, by Armenia to the south, and by Azerbaijan to the southeast. The country covers an area of 26,900 square miles and has a population of 3.7 million people. Tbilisi is its capital as well as its largest city, home to roughly a third of the Georgian population. Cindy says that Tbilisi is amazing and it's a capital that will stay on your mind forever. Cindy says Georgia is rich with history and when I went to Moscow, Russia, I met a fellow tourist named Giorgi Bolkvadze, who I am still in contact with. Giorgi like myself, is very interested in the paranormal. Giorgi is from Georgia. Giorgi like my stepmother Cindy has visited a very haunted fortress called the Narikala Fortress.

The Narikala Fortress is very ancient structure, and it overlooks the capital of Georgia and the Mtkvari (Kura) River. There are two walled sections that covers the area of the sulfur baths and the botanical gardens of the capital. The St. Nicholas Church at the lower court has been renovated in 1996-97 and it replaces the original church that was built in the 13th Century. The original church was devastated by a fire. The fortress itself was built by King Vakhtang I of the ancient kingdom of Iberia. The land where the capital of Tbilisi sits was settled by early humans in the 4th Millennium BC. The fortress itself may have been built towards the end of the 4th Century by King Varaz-Bakur's reign. A great conflict occurred during the 4th Century when the Persians took over the fortress and in the 5th Century the Kings of Kartli reclaimed the fortress. The Umayyads and King David the Builder took over the fortress in the 7th Century. The Mongols called the fortress Narin Qala aka (the Little Fortress). There has been a lot of damage to the fortress in 1827 when a massive earthquake hit the region.

The entities that are seen at the fortress are:
Narikala Shadow People
Phantom Persian Warriors (Ghosts)
Narikala Ifrit (Cryptid)
Narikala Black Hound (Cryptid)

More on the Supernatural Entities of the Fortress:
According to my colleague Giorgi, the fortress is extremely haunted. Giorgi says that tourists and locals have seen shadow people throughout the fortress. Giorgi says that the fortress is haunted by 4 types of entities. The first type is the shadow people that are seen throughout the fortress. Giorgi says that he has seen 2 shadow people while visiting the fortress and knows its real. The other entities are ghosts from the past. Giorgi's best friend came across what he thought was the ghosts of 3 Persian warriors that walked through a wall. Giorgi's father in 1963, along with 4 other people saw an enormous winged creature. This winged creature had wings that seemed to be made of fire. The locals believe that this winged creature is a Jinn known as an Ifrit. The Ifrit was perched on the highest tower for a period of time and then flew away over the capital and hasn't been seen since. Giorgi recalls a story he heard about a woman tourist at the fortress that was pushed down some stairs and the push was bad enough, in which she had a twisted ankle. The 4th paranormal entity that is sometimes seen at the fortress is a ghostly large black dog. Giorgi says that this black dog is seen during any crisis that occurs in Eastern Europe. When the Russians invaded Ukraine, the black dog was seen roaming around the fortress. The black dog was also seen when the original church caught on fire and during the 1827 Earthquake. Giorgi advice is to be aware of the supernatural when visiting the fortress, because anything will happen and if you are not prepared for it, you can find yourself in a bad situation.
