My apologies as to being unclear-

I had fusion in the first toe - the biggest, with screws going from a long bone into a very small joint where they meet. I am 6 weeks non-weight bearing, and have been given an aproximate 3 month recovery period, after which my doctor says I should be walking normally again.

My doctor is very informatiove, and has invited be to have him paged at any time that I might be experiencing pain that is out of the ordinary, or that I have questions about.

My difficulty in explaining the fifth toe pain is that it was caused by something inside the splint I wore for the first ten days after surgery. The point that I mean to make is that it caused me more pain than the surgical site, which was the other side of my foot.
