I can only take a wild guess, as your description could fit several scenarios. But I'll try "saddle bone deformity." This is an exostosis, or abnormal bump of bone on the top of the metatarsal-cuneiform joint.
In lieu of a lengthy dissertation on something which it might not be, assuming that you gave your correct email address, I've sent you a 25 second flash movie and a flash player to play it on in case you don't have one. It very clearly shows the deformity of which I speak, and shows a quick, but oversimplified animation regarding what can be done.
