(November 5, 2001)I had my knees and ankles broken because my legs needed to be straightened so there wasn't any pressure on my knees. I have titanium rods and growth plates in my knees and ankles. I was in long casts for 10 weeks (without putting weight on my legs). I went through intensely painful rehab to learn how to walk again. I had a second surgery on my left ankle to correct a pin that was placed incorrectly in my ankle (in Spring 2002). In November 2005 I had my left ankle operated on again because a pin had moved to close to the skin (after 3 years since previous surgery). Now I have constant pain on the inside of my right ankle. I have had x-rays and they don't show anything is wrong. I am worried that something is really wrong with my ankle. Also, I was born with mild cerebral palsy. Any information or advice would be extremely appreciated. Thanks. |
