I woke up about a week ago and found that it suddenly hurt to walk on my right foot. I thought maybe it was just one of those things that would go away after a day or two as some things tend to do. However, a week later I'm still limping around and still have about the same amount of pain.

I'm pretty sure it's not a musclular problem. I've tried rubbing or massaging the foot, but it has made no difference. There is no pain when I push or massage the foot.

Standing flat-footed or on my tip-toes doesn't hurt. It only hurts when in that intermediate stage of walking when your body weight is put on the balls of your feet, and even more-so immediately when the weight is taken off.

The pain seems to be consentrated around the region of the third and fourth toes, leading me to believe that perhaps I'm dealing with neuroma. However, I wear sneakers the majority of the time and I hadn't done anything in the days before that was any more stressful on my foot than usual. (I should probably also note that I have had no foot problems in the past)

Am I right in thinking neuroma is the likely culprit? Does this sound like something I should see a doctor about? Or something that might just go away with time (and orthopedic soles)?
