It could be innocuous, but it also could be evidence of a serious tissue breakdown and possibly an infection. At any rate, the prudent thing to do would be to have it looked at professionally, and to neither wait nor rely on definitive comments or guesses which you might receive here. Other than that advice, the obtaining of "thoughts on the matter as to what the hell it is" can serve no purpose of value, especially in light of the fact that no one here knows your medical, circulatory and sensory status. But reliance on an answer to your question in this forum may be a factor in a more prolonged condition which may be more difficult to resolve and may result in possibly increasingly serious problems. This is neither an appropriate venue for the obtaining of a definitive individual diagnosis nor for trying to avoid a visit to an appropriate doctor. I recommend you see one.
