My name is Lisa Karau and I was adopted April 5th of 1965 in Pittsburgh PA with Lutheran Social Services. I was born in Sept 1964 and not relinquished by my birth mother until April of 1965. Ruth Christenson was the case manager that brokered my adoption. I grew up with her as a " family friend " as she brokered two other adoptions for my adoptive parents. The last time I visited with Ruth in San Antonio Texas she was very close to the end of her life and almost broke down and shared who my birth mother was...apparently all she would say was that she kept in contact with her for several years. My birth mother was married at the time or so the story goes , and was told " place the baby for adoption since it was not her husbands " or the marriage was over...I know I have or was told I have three brothers older than me...I am dark haired and dark eyed and tall...and per Ruth...look exactly like my birth mother...Thank you for taking the time to read... |
