"Soaking of the feet" in general offers no specific medical value. Though, sometimes I may advocate soaking for a specific purpose, eg. in medicated soolutions after certain nail sugeries or for acute skin coinditions or soft tissue injuries. Hot water should never be used. As for diabetics, diabetes in gneral offers no additional contraindication. It is the complications of diabetes that make contraindicate soaking: circulatory impairment, neuropathy, etc. Check with your diabetologist or podiatrist prior to foot soaking. |
