Two weeks ago, I absorbed a lot of sudden pressure on my right foot while snowboarding. While I can still walk, I am not able to run due to pain.
The pain is pinpointed on the bottom side of the inside ankle bone. It is very tender. I can feel pain by pressing on the spot or raising my toes towards my shin. This ankle flex is mimicked when I run.
I have been taking ibuprofen twice a day as I was icing this area in the evenings for the first week. There is no real noticeable inflamation but as I said, the area is very tender.
I am a runner and would like to get back on the trails. I was hoping this injury would subside but know I fear I may have severely injured the ankle.
What is your diagnosis and what should I do to care for the injury?
Thanks. |
