So, I found this website, and I've read a few things on it about Liz-Franc injuries. So, I was hoping some of you could give me some feedback. About 8 years ago I absolutely destroyed my left ankle playing basketball. It was huge, black, blue, and hurt to high heaven. I got it checked by a doctor and he looked at it and determined that I had some pulled and torn ligaments. Now, this was tough for me, because I hate going to the doctor. The only time I go is when I hurt really bad, and I know there is a severe problem with my health. It eventually healed, but it never felt right. Then about 3 years ago I was playing basketball with the boys again, and I rolled it right over, which destroyed it again. It showed all the signs of a bad sprain, with swelling, bruising, etc. The doctor I saw x-rayed it and determined it wasn't broken, but that it was sprained rally bad. Now the next part of my story is no lie even though it will sound like it. Literally 2 weeks after I got it healed and could play on it again. I blew it out again playing softball. I got it caught on a clump of grass and detroyed it again. This time it was diagnosed as a high ankle sprain, but it locked up on me. It almost felt like I had a bone chip in my joint. The doctor x-rayed it, but found nothing broken. When I could finally walk and play on it again I was playing softball the first night back and a blew it up rounding first base. The pain was unbearable! Why do I keep playing on it? I love sports that is why. Anyway, I saw a doctor again, because at this point my ankle locked up. The doctor found nothing. When it was healed up again from time to time it locked up on me. I now have to be careful how I moved it, because it will just lock up on me from time to time. Then it loosens up and I can move the joint again, but the pain is horrible. After softball season I started basketball season again, and blew up my ankle again. At this point in my life the ankle is very unstable. I'm 30 years old and I still play sports, but this left ankel of mine still locks up on me from time to time, when I twist my body and my ankel stays stable, then I can feel my ligaments burning. What worries me the most is that it still locks up on me from time to time, and I can't walk on it or move it. It is a huge problem. I haven't had a bad sprain for awhile, but I'm tired of it locking up on me and doctors not knowing what is up. I can't even walk in the morning when I get up out of bed. The pain in my arch is very painful! During the current NFL draft, some of the announcers were saying how one of the players drafted by the Dolphins has a Liz-Franc injury, and described what it was. No doctor has ever even mentioned to me that I could have this injury. Is it possible I have it? I know this is a huge post, but would appreciate any feedback. Thanks
