Although more proximal nerve or nerve root dysfunctions might cause symptoms in the foot and ankle which might be in some ways similar to TTS, traditional tarsal tunnel syndrome is a locally manifested peripheral neuropathy resulting from pressure on, or binding down of or some form of injury to the tibial nerve as it passes through the tarsal tunnel which is located just below the inside ankle bone. Brachial plexopathy can be of somewhat but not specifically analogous cause, in as much as it is a locally caused dysfunction of nerves, but the source of the dysfunction is located in the brachial plexus where nerves from the spinal chord branch off to service the arm. So, if your diagnosis of TTS was accurate, there should be no connection between either the two diagnoses or your back problems. But this is not to say that you do not have some other nerve dysfunctions resulting from problems elsewhere. I find it strange that your doctor was unable to answer this for you.
