Over the past couple of weeks I have developed an acute pain in toes 3 & 4 (next to the smallest toe). At first I thought it was a nail problem, as it feels like I am pulling off a toenail, but I have now realised it is being caused when I put pressure on the sole behind the toes. It is much worse in hard shoes.
I have been running and cycling a few days a week, and this is putting the brakes on the running severely. At times I can hardly walk with the pain, having to put all my weight on the big toe rather than the rest of the foot.
I have had carpal tunnel surgery on both wrists, & this feels like a similar pain. Is it likely to be nerves, & is rest likely to bring it under control to the extent I can run again, or will it just flair up again?
I know there are a few quetions here, & a visit to the doctors is probably required, but it is a couple of weeks till I will be in a place I can get to one & I would like to know what I'm in for.
