It is not uncommon to have a lightening of color of the skin which persists, especially in those with more pigment in the skin, after especially repeated uses of "corn remover" products. But "corn remover" products are generally not the best choice of treatment for corns anyhow. They never provide permanent relief unless and until the irritant cause which is creating the corn is effectively addressed, and these products offer certain risks, especially to the elderly, those with marginal circulation and diabetics. They are almost all salicylic acid. But to specifically answer your question, the lightening may well persist, depending on how much skin damage has occured, and when such products are properly used, the dead tissue should be allowed to come off on its own rather than peeling it and risking creating a tear in the normal skin beneath.
