Accurate diagnosis is a series of "rule-in/rule out" questions and findings. Since you are seeing a podiatrist in the near future, I think it clearly advantageous for the waters not to be muddied by a shoot-from-the-hip diagnosis, the validity of which cannot possibly approximate the hands-on evaluation which I assume you will soon receive.
If, after you see the doctor, and if you feel that you have not gotten what you deem necessary, repost with the the exhaustive details of your office visit and I will be most likely agreeable to comment as to the generalities of such situations with the caveat that they may or may not be directly germane to your case.
