It may be that you have a high-arched foot which is difficult to fit in many styles of shoes, or you could be experiencing shoe pressure which is irritating the rather superficial sensory nerves on the dorsum of the foot or you could have a bony protrusion on the dorsum of the foot known as saddle bone deformity at the apex of the arch or you could have a ganglionic or synovial cyst of the dorsum of the foot in the same area or you could have a bone bruise of the area, or you could have osteomyelitis or you could have a soft tissue infection or you could have a splinter or you could have edema . . get the picture??
