It depends on the type of pain you are having. Is your foot cool to the touch? Does it burn and tingle? If so this could be a sign of Reflex Sympathic Dystropy. If this is the case whom ever did your surgery many need to do local injections and then send you to a pain managment specialist and physical therapy. I recommend talking with your physician... tell them how much pain you are in. If what you are describing is what I think it is it needs to be treated now!
