I would like to hear from anyone who has had recent surgery for bunions, in Canada and find out how it went and how successful it was. Did you have arthritiis in the toe/bunion also? Thanks very much, in advance, for any replies.

I am going to have bunion surgery, by a well known Edmonton, Alberta, podiatrist. He says it is fairly major surgery due to the extent of my bunion and the arthritis which has set in. He said if there was no arthritis he could have done it by Laser, but that is not an option now.
Surgery will cost 1,500.00 approximately. First two weeks after surgery I must keep the foot elevated and iced...seems like a long time, and very little walking, best to not put weight on till it heals. May take 6 to 8 weeks for full healing. (I am 54 years, female in very good health)
