I took a cashier's job a year and a half ago, and my feet have been getting progressively worse. About six month's into the job, I started getting severe pain in my right heel. I spent $250.00(OUCH!) on orthotics at the Good Feet Store. After about six months, the heel pain in my right foot was virtually gone.

I continued to wear the orthotics, but I started getting arch pain in my left foot about four months ago. It has gotten SO bad, that when I get up in the morning, I have to stand for a good minute and stretch my foot before I can even begin to walk. When I do start to walk, I have to take it very slowly, and after a few minutes, I am able to walk with less pain, however the pain is still VERY noticeable. I have also developed a limp because of the pain.

I have a lump on the inside of my arch about the size of a flat apricot. The lump does not move and is fairly rigid. Also, there is a lot of heat in the area of the pain. I stopped wearing my orthotics about a week ago, thinking maybe they are irritating my arch. Since then, I have had no relief.

I have no health insurance, and am hoping to find some help without having to see a specialist. Therefore, any ideas or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I know what you are thinking...get another job. I LOVE my job and the people I work with, and make a good salary, so I really don't want to quit. So, if I can fix my feet, I will be really happy!

Thanks in advance for taking the time to read this, and respond if you can help.
