Cop peasant scum actually "despise guys like Nick" because they hate anybody who is "creative, sensative, bright, original, subversive, and nonconformist." In the military, little white trash cannonfodder is brain washed into becoming "little killing robots" who die and kill for Republican "no bid DOD contracts" while waiving the flag.
Nick got on the radar screen and the secret police group sent out some goons to stalk, assault, and beat him to death. The Deputy came into to finish the job. In Kern County Law Enforcement..."a dead hippie artist" is a "good dead hippie artist." That's how these slimey little sociopaths in law enforcement see the world...and their ingroup supports and sanctions any felony crime committed against "anybody who displays any personality characteristics" that oppose or conflicts with The Authoritarian Personality's "internalized" rigidity.
Nick was stalked and beaten, and then assasinated. He was Kern County LE's sacrificial lamb or scapegoat. Now the cops are happy and smug. There will be no justice.
