Thanks for the photos and info about your board mid-1971 Bing Shortboard. Bing may have a record of this board in his old order book. He'll make you a birth certificate for it and email it to you once he reads our emails (you should get it probably tomorrow).
6'2", 18" wide nose and tail, and 22" wide in the middle. What an egg! Short, wide and round. Might hatch if you sat on it for awhile. Obviously, one of Mike Eaton's shapes, as he shifted away from doing short twin fins back to single fins.
I like the layout of the lams on the deck, between the resin pinline artwork; it's five Bing's ambigram lams connected together in a line.
The resin pinline, graphic design on the deck is something Mike Eaton (Bing's lead shaper at the time) came up with and Tommy Curtiss (pinliner) "perfected" (Mike's word). If you've seen pictures of some of the Bing Bonzers and other shortboards that Mike made through the mid to late 1970s, you'd see how Mike's "trade mark" arrow design grew into a full deck or bottom piece of beautiful resin artwork, all done by Tommy Curtiss.
Hard for me to see it, but if it is a GFS fin set up, it's one of the last ones that was done before Bing went to using the Fins Unlimited box, which he had already started using several months prior to when your board was made. Do you have a closer in photo of the fin/fin area you can send me? Thanks.
