I was C Company Comdr 3/508 in theCanalZone '62 to '63. 1st Sgt Sneed was my 1st Sergeant and this was the best outfit it could be! We were always on alert, and that took a toll on our people. We were 'chuted up and on the ready to jump into Cuba, but were stood down by Gen O'Meara. We were locked and loaded to move on to the Bridge of the America's in October of '62' but again, we were stood down by Gen O'Meara
This was an interesting time in my 24 year Army career! Regards, Ray
