Photo tip of the week.

Let me open by saying I am getting very little feed back or questions about the weekly tip. I will be missing some coming up will I am on assignment and it will be interesting to see if they are missed.

This week I am going to cover displaying your pictures on the Web, Computer, and the Digital Picture frames that have finally come down in price and will be the wave of the future for displaying your work.

I work with Photo Shop and when I have finished my adjustments I keep two copies of the adjusted picture plus one other copy for Web, Computer, and DPF display. So when I am through saving my work as a TIFF file I resize the photo to 72DPI, with the original photo starting at 8.5 X 11.33 inches. This seems to be a good size for saving in the Tiff file and works well in other formats. I do all my photos at 8.5 X 11 Jpeg file at 72DPI for the web. If you upload and park your photos try to upload and save as close to 600 pixels as possible. You can use the big files for backgrounds and other applications. My MySpace background is a 600 pixel wide picture parked at my web site and then I use the http address to post the pictures as needed to other locations on the web. For Computers I use a Jpeg file the same as the above, as a matter of fact I use the above for all digital media display. You can go to twotankedproductions.com and see the results. For the Digital Picture frames you can buy cheap media and load hundreds of pictures and MP3 files for hours of entertainment. You can also copy these files to a CD or DVD for play in most DVD players on your TV. One other option for display is the Digital Slide show you can do in most burn programs like Nero or Microsoft Plush slide show where you can add music and titles to your finished files. It doesn’t do any good to have a lot of nice pictures if your not going to display them in an equally nice manner. Go forth and put on a great show for your friends and family!
