Create a REFERENCE to the slider that's on the main panel. Pass the REFERENCE to the "wrapper" VI, and use a PROPERTY NODE wired to the reference. Set the PROPERTY NODE to write the RANGE.MIN and RANGE.MAX properties and you're done.
The reference allows you to change the properties of any panel object anywhere in your program, not just on the VI that's running at the moment.
