I don't know how 'they' get away with murder. It's a combination of many things and it is disgusting. I will never accept it. Survivors are suppose to go on almost as if nothing happened. That's impossible.
Our justice system works like a square wheel - sometimes it turns other times it's stuck... people won't talk, they don't want to be involved. Other times cases go to court and the defendants get plea bargains - shortened sentences...That's not just. I often wonder how our lawmakers would feel if they walked in the shoes of a homicide survivor and had to sit through some of the procedures they have created for us. I believe many of them have forgotten how precious life is; the life of the victim and the lives of the survivors who somehow must live on. |
