Oh the years they do fly.
Can you imagine the oyster, on first spawn, the wild water full of potential, then contact, a larvae is born, then the swimming foot seeking for a shell to set as spat. Then
a sedentary life ensues. The waters come and go. Perhaps a pea crab comes to visit (and might never leave). Those pesky drills can wreak havoc on a strong shell, but by and large, the seasons come and go, and the oyster sets in place. |
