My father was Edward Walsh Williams.
His mother was Marion Joanna Parks Williams
Her mother was Mary Alcesta Darst Parks(born about 1850).
There was, according to the 1850 census, a Mary Ann Darst.
Her brothers were:
R. B. Darst (30)
Eliza Darst (21)
Albert W Darst (5)
Robert H Darst (1)
and
James Rice (24).
I don't know how this connects to Jacob Calloway Darst who may have owned the land which is now Darst Field.
We have always heard that some slick real estate guy bilked a Darst widow out of the land for a little of nothing.
We think of that every time we drive by Darst Field on I-10 and smell the gas in the air. It would be neat to know the true story.
There is also a story that a Darst once owned the land where the Richmond, TX county seat is located.
