Since I first posted in September of 2011, I've learned a lot.
First, to answer one of the many questions. Yes, I am related to the Darst of Darst Bottoms in St. Charles Missouri. In fact I'm from the area. Never exactly lived in the Bottoms but I've hunted and lived in the area as you could say pretty much all my life.
But, I'm a Distant Cousins to these Darst, Derst Family kin.
We share a common ancestor. Johann Paul Darst is my line. Arriving in Philadelphia in 1732. Son of Johann Derst. And Brother of Abraham Derst.
My family line comes originally from Germany as does the others to Pennsylvania, and then to Maryland and Virginia then on into Kentucky in about 1825.
Later my Ancestors John Paul Darst and his wife Margaret Mitchell and family moved to the new State of Missouri. And settled in St. Louis.
John Paul Darst became a builder in St. Louis but died fairly young in 1835.
John Paul and Margaret Darst son James Edward Darst and Mary Anne Hartnett are my 4th Great Grandparents. Their Son Joseph Charles Darst and Annie Miltenberger are my 3rd Great Grandparents. And their Daughter Marian Miltenberger Darst married Edward Chassaing and they are my Great Grandparents. Thank You, Michael Snyder |
